RLE ensures safe competitions with the Hygiene Alliance and Nova-App

German Swimming Championships: Safe competitions thanks to smart hygiene stations and daily tests

In sporting terms, “THE FINALS 2021” are a huge deal. But the organisational effort for the organisers is also enormous to ensure the safety of all participants in the coronavirus pandemic. The German Swimming Association e.V. (DSV) as the organiser of the German Championships in swimming and water diving relies on the expertise of RLE INTERNATIONAL. The company, which is based in Overath near Cologne, has created “The Hygiene Alliance” and provides innovative solutions to ensure that the competitions are held safely in the Berlin swimming and diving hall in the Europasportpark (SSE).

Many athletes already know the procedure from the Olympic qualification, where “Die Hygiene Allianz” was also already in use. The NOVA app is used to organise the entire event, from pre-event registration to the end of the event. After arrival with a valid PCR test, a rapid antigen test takes place daily for all participants. For the Finals – DM Swimming 2021, we have testing capacity of up to 2,000 tests daily. Access to the sports venues is through check-in at the hygiene pillars with tamper-proof biometric facial recognition.

With this innovative, digital solution from the Hygiene Alliance, we can ensure that digital contact tracing is seamless for all participants in the event of infection and that no person is in the buildings without a negative rapid test. According to the motto “maximum prevention with minimum effort for the participants”. The feedback from all event participants is extremely positive. The concept had already proven itself at the DSV Olympic Qualification Pool Swimming in April and has been further optimised since then. The technical solutions are scalable and can also be used for events with significantly more participants and visitors.
